From the airport

  • Airport Express:

  • Take Airport Express from Hong Kong International Airport to Kowloon Station (21 minutes, HK$90). A complimentary Airport Express Shuttle Bus (Route number K3) to the hotel is available from the station every 12 minutes, departing from 06:12 to 23:12 daily.

From Railway Terminal (Hung Hom Station)

  • By walk:

  • Hotel ICON is just a 5/10 minute walk Hung Hom Station exit D1. This is the southern terminus of East Rail Line and West Rail Line of MTR (Mass Transit Railway) system, as well as the terminus of cross-border services with destination to major cities in Mainland China including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dongguan (Changping), Foshan, and Zhaoqing.


Direction to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is located at the centre of the city, PolyU is easily accessible by various means of public transportation:

  • The nearest MTR station is Hung Hom Station and a footbridge at Exit A1 leads you to the campus.

  • By Bus:

  • Two major bus stops around campus are Hung Hom Station and Cross Harbour Tunnel Toll Plaza (Kowloon side).

From the airport:

  • By MTR:

  • Take Airport Express from Hong Kong International Airport to Tsing Yi Station, interchange to Tung Chung Line for Hong Kong Station, and interchange at Nam Cheong Station to West Rail Line to Hung Hom Station. A footbridge at Hung Hom Station Exit A1 leads you to the campus. It takes around 40 minutes and HK$60 (with Octopus)/HK$69 (without Octopus).

  • By Bus:

  • Bus A21 goes from Airport (Ground Transportation Centre) Bus Terminus to Hung Hom Station. A footbridge at Hung Hom Station Exit A1 leads you to the campus. It takes around 1 hour and HK$33.

From Railway Terminal (Hung Hom Station)

  • By walk:

  • Intercity Through Train Concourse is at Hung Hom Station Exit C. A footbridge at Hung Hom Station Exit A1 leads you to the campus.

Accessibility

Hotel Access

Hotel ICON provides handicapped rooms, accessible facilities, accessible parking, and audible emergency alarm for sight impaired guests. Connections between hotel and the footbridge that links public transportation (MTR and two major bus stations) are NOT accessible via ramps or lifts.

Campus Access

Most Buildings on campus are accessible via ramps or lifts. Signs are available inside cores to indicate the location of wash rooms for the physically disabled. Connections between campus and Hung Hom Station as well as but stop Cross Habour Tunnel Toll Plaza (most platforms) are accessible via ramps and lifts.

Hotel Information

The venues of the summit and conference are located in Hung Hom, close to Victoria Harbour. Most hotels nearby enjoy both harbour view and city view and the prices vary depending on the view. We provide a list of hotels closed to the event venues for participants. All of them are within 10 minutes’ walking distance. Please click on the button below to download.

 

Visa Issue

According to the information from Immigration Department, nationals of about 170 countries and territories may visit Hong Kong without a visa/entry permit for a period ranging from 7 days to 180 days. For more information on visa/entry permit requirements for visitors to the HKSAR, please refer to the website of Immigration Department: here.

Insurance

The organizer does not accept responsibility for accidents that might occur. Participants are strongly encouraged to arrange travel insurance prior to their departure from their home countries. Insurance plans covering accidental loss of belongs, medical costs of injury and illness, and other possible risks related to international travel are recommended.

Taking a Taxi

Three types of taxis are operating in Hong Kong: Urban red taxi, New Territories green taxi, and Lantau Island blue taxi. All three types of taxis serve Hong Kong International Airport, but ONLY Urban red taxis go to the venues of our events. First 2 kilometres or any part thereof of hiring a red taxi costs HK$22. Additional charges occur for large baggage. The toll and return toll are both payable by passenger for cross-harbour hiring.
